History of Haiku Poems and its examples.
Haiku Poems are composed of three lines with 5-7-5 syllables, these are the traditional way of making haiku. But in the modern haiku poetry, syllables is not a big deal. You can still make haiku poems while not following this traditional way as long as its nice, clean and neat. Remember that making haiku poems must be simple and understandable.
Haiku Poems are a type of Japanese poetry which found acceptance as a legitimate art form more than 300 years ago when the poet and former samurai warrior Basho (b. 1644 – d. 1694) devoted himself to the genre.
By the mid-1800’s this style was thought to be on the wane in Japan but for the efforts of Masaoka Shiki, an eminent poet and literary critic who revived interest in the form.
Here are good examples of haiku poems that made by different haiku enthusiasts.
Whistling in my hum
plum's nectar drips
in a storm across my lips'
by @lionlambluv
'fruity autumn jewels
plums and red pears sliced and baked
with almond crumble'
'three days of rain ...
not even a fraction
of the world's tears'
'the sky was so blue
it pulled the clouds overhead
and went back to bed
'In partners pocketsBr
numb fingertips warm gently.
Bonfire comfort.'
